Organize Your Fridge
We use our refrigerators every day, which can make it easy for them to become a muddled mess. Use these tips and tricks to keep your fridge clean and streamlined.
Clean and sort. Start with a clean canvas. Take everything out of your refrigerator, including removable drawers and shelves. Soak components in warm, soapy water while you wipe down the interior. Sort food items as you put them back, and be sure to check expiration dates and toss anything you know you won't eat.
Organize intentionally. Designate areas in your refrigerator for specific items. Place leftovers or food you want to eat soon at eye level to keep them top-of-mind. Store items that spoil quickly, such as meats or fish, in the coldest part of your fridge to keep them fresher longer.
Maximize efficiency. Use bins or baskets to group items like beverages or healthy snacks. Keep a dry-erase board near your refrigerator to track what you have on hand as well as what you'll need to buy on your next grocery trip.
